Sushmita Sen is an Indian film actress, model and beauty pageant title holder. She was crowned Miss Universe 1994 by outgoing title holder Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico at the 43^rd edition of the Miss Universe Pageant held in Manila, Philippines on 20 May 1994. Sushmita Sen was the first Indian to win the crown.

Sushmita Sen was born on 19 November 1975 in Hyderabad into a Bengali family. She did her schooling from the Saint Ann's High School located at Secunderabad. She did not pursue higher studies but became an English Honors student, and also obtained a degree in Journalism. Her first public appearance was at the Air Force Club Contest at the age of 15 years. During her younger age, she was regarded as a tomboy and spent most of her time with boys. Sushmita took everyone by surprise when she was crowned Miss India and her competitor Aishwarya had to took up First Runner-up place. The former queen of the Universe Sushmita Sen is a diva in true sense. The actress is known for her classy dressing and is considered as a 'wild cat'. She is bold, uninhibited and undoubtedly alluring. The Miss Universe is known for her love to pen down beautiful poems and very few people know about the hidden talent, which Sushmita Sen has.

Sushmita has statred her career in bollywood with the film Dastak in 1996. Her role in Sirf Tum, gave her chance to make a mark in Indian films. Her later movie Main Hoon Na, has went on to higest grossing at the box-office. She was last seen in the film 'No Problem' in 2010.

During Sushmita's early life, she has many affairs but currently, she is not dating anyone. The actress said that, she has no plans of getting married. Recently she has expressed that, "I think you save the best for the last. I don't think rules set by the society need to be followed by everyone, like getting educated by age of 18 years, marrying at 25 and becoming parent by 27. I don't believe in this". 

Sushmita Sen, the most glamorous and stylish lady in India, adopted a baby girl named Renee in the year 2000. Since she was a 25 year old single woman then, she was not given the permission to take the guardianship of the child. However, later on the High Court repressed the appeal and Sushmita obtained gain of cause. She adopted a 3 month old girl on the 13th of June, 2010 and she gave her the named her Alisah. Sushmita is also a renowned philanthropist. With the arrival of her second daughter, she got biggest change in her life.

Sushmita Sen the tall and beautiful actress maintains her beauty by following good diet regularly. Her diet contains cup of ginger tea following a glass of vegetable juice along with three egg whites or porridge. She also does yoga and pranayam for peace of mind and sleeps early. Sushmita works out regularly to maintain herself.
